Please note: We have terminated the requirement forcing magazine readers to go to the website to get registration details. From the August issue of Techlife - PC User Updated, all relevant information will be provided on the disk itself.


ISSUES WITH REGISTRATION OF DAZ PRODUCTS

For users of DAZ 4 Studio and Bryce 7, we have provided readers with registration details as supplied to us by DAZ. The company has since changed some parts of the registration process and some people are unable to get serial numbers to register the products. This appears to be a generic problem for DAZ software, not just restricted to the versions of the software supplied on the PC User/TechLife disks. When we download DAZ software independently, we are also unable to register it.

a) We are in discussions with DAZ to rectify this, however, we cannot bear responsibility for a software supplier changing its registration process. 

b) You may want to follow DAZ's own instructions for registering the products. 

c) You may also want to contact DAZ directly and express your concerns.

 

JULY TECHLIFE DISK DETAILS

Ashampoo Gadge It

First, make sure you are connected to the Internet. Now install Gadge it -- at the end of the installation process the program will open your Web browser at the registration site. Here, enter a valid email address in the form provided. A registration code will then be sent to that email address. (If you don't receive the email please check your junk email folder, as these emails are sometimes picked up by spam filters). Then launch Ashampoo Gadge it. You'll be greeted with a registration splash screen -- just click in the licence key area add the code from the email, click Activate Now and your full version will be unlocked. (This splash screen also gives you the option to Request FREE full version key if you missed this option during installation).

Bryce 7

Once you install the program, it will ask for serial number but also redirects you to a page on the DAZ website on which you should be able to obtain serial numbers. However, at last try, the page does not work. [see note about DAZ products above] 

 

JUNE PC USER DISK

Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2012

First, make sure you are connected to the Internet. Now install WinOptimizer 2012 -- at the end of the installation process the program will open your Web browser at the registration site. Here, enter a valid email address in the form provided. A registration code will then be sent to that email address. (If you don't receive the email please check your junk email folder, as these emails are sometimes picked up by spam filters). Then launch WinOptimizer 2012. You'll be greeted with a registration splash screen -- just click in the licence key area add the code from the email, click Activate Now and your full version will be unlocked. (This splash screen also gives you the option to Request FREE full version key if you missed this option during installation).

CleverPrint 2012 SE

First, make sure you are connected to the Internet. Now install CleverPrint. When you first run the program you will see an unlock code window. Type your name and enter a valid email address and click the Get Free Unlock Code Now link. You will receive an email with your unlock code which you can copy and paste into the unlock code window to unlock your software if the unlock code does not appear automatically for you. When your key is validated you can continue to install the program.

DAZ Studio Pro 4

You need to first create an account on the DAZ 3D web site to get your serial number to run the program.  According to DAZ this is how you register:

[From DAZ website] "Serial numbers are only generated for licenses of DAZ Studio that have been 'purchased' from the DAZ Store - even those that have been 'purchased' for $0.00. Therefore, if you have downloaded DAZ Studio 4.x from a website like Download.com, obtained it from a cover CD included with a book or magazine, or by any other means than the DAZ 3D Store directly, you will need to follow the steps below."

Step By Step

Step 1 - Create a DAZ 3D Store Account

  1. 1. Register an account on the DAZ 3D Store.
  2. 2. Confirm the email address for the account.
  3. 3. Return to the DAZ 3D Store and login.

Step 2 - Add DAZ Studio 4 to Your Account

  1. 1. Add DAZ Studio 4 to your shopping cart.
  2. 2. Complete the store checkout process.

Step 3 - Retrieve Your Serial Number

  1. 1. Go to the Available Serial Numbers page. [Please note, when we last tried this, this page does not produce a result]
  2. 2. Copy the DAZ Studio 4 serial number.
  3. 3. Paste the serial number into the field of the DAZ Studio 4.x registration window.
